Sorry if this is a common thread topic, but I would like to hear feedback on my rig. I built it with gaming in mind.... Can it run games like Metro 2033 (DX11) and Crysis 2 (DX11) in 1080p? (or do I need to Crossfire?) My monitor is sadly only 1366x 768 and doesn't look good when hooked to my computer via HDMI. 😱

CPU: Intel Core i7 2600 (not K, don't plan on overclocking)
Mother Board: MSI P67A-G43 (B3)
GPU: Sapphire Radeon HD 6970
RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB
PSU: Corsair CMPSU-750TX (750 watts)
HDD: Western Digital Caviar Black WD5002AALX (7200RPM 500GB)
Disk Drive: LITE-ON Black 4X Blu-Ray Reader
Case: COOLER MASTER HAF X RC-942-KKN1

But im right in thinking as you said , it would not reach its full clock before, but now you have disabled Cstate in the BIOS it will reach its full potential, so do you now get decent frame rates in your games?

I like it! The only thing I don't like is the MSI MB, Asus or GB would have been prefered. However all your brand selections are excellent. Your CPU is also one of the best.

I'm Blackhawk1928 and I approve this computer build!

you answered why its happening in your next reply.. turning off c1 halt state stops the cpu from using its low power state
so it wont drop the multi to save power. turning on more c state options will increase efficencey even more. especialy usefull if your away from the pc hours at a time while it runs low usage apps.

Okay so I hooked up my PC to a 1080p tv and here are the rough results. So I can run Metro 2033 (DX11) Max settings at around 30-50 fps, Crysis (DX10) Ultra around 30-45 fps, Witcher 2 (Uber Max settings) around 22-34 fps, Battlefield Bad Company 2 (DX11) max at 75-60 fps and Mass Effect 2 at 60 fps. 😀 I will say that they go towards the lower frame rates.

With Ubersampling turned on? What are your CCC settings. [Note: I haven't done anything with these settings]

No I didn't notice a change in performance, but my CPU is running its normal clocks. (tried a different temp and usage software) Also is there a way I can lock frame rates?
