I'm making a computer this weekend.

Asus Maximus IV Extreme - Motherboard

Asus Nividia GTX 680 - Graphics Card

16GB Ram (Forgot what company...) - RAM

1TB Hard Drive - Hard Drive

Intel i7 3770k Unlocked - Processor

Cooler Master - Computer Case

I can't wait, I'm going to have fun making it XD. :bounce:

i take it the hd is a mechanical type? this would be a chokepoint in the system. you might want to think about a ssd drive for your boot drive and for any frequently used programs. 80gb+ is normally a good start. you can keep the hdd for a data drive to store your music and/or large files on.

i just put in a samsung 830 256gb sata III drive in my laptop and it starts up in about 9 seconds to desktop compared with the 30+ it used to.

remember to match the number of ram sticks to the channels of memory required by the motherboard. ie, for triple channel you wouldnt use 4 sticks you would use 3 or 6. check this.

overall? sounds like decent performance specs.

8/10 That is actually what im looking at upgrading to later on this year.

new case and maybe new HDD's and a SSD if you want to add some grunt to it.

I like the NZXT Carbide series or the 400D/500D mid towers :) and a few 2TB Black edition Western digitals go a long way. :)

Ooooh, that's a good idea. Thanks for the feedback.

Viddice is that case in your avatar an Enermax Uber Chakra? Looks pretty sweet :) OP didn't specify his case though, just the manufacturer. I'm not a big fan of Coolermaster cases interms of design but they do incredibly well in reviews for cooling vs noise, build quality, ease of installation etc.

The SSD is solid advice (no pun intended) - Samsung 840 Pro about to launch and benchmarks suggest it's the fastest consumer SSD in existence. A 120GB 840 Pro will probably set you back around £105. I'd actually advise against WD hard disks based on my own personal experience, but I think all the major manufacturers have let somebody down interms of reliability.
