Motherboard: Gigabyte 970A-DS3P
RAM: 8GB Corsair 1600mhz Vengeance (2x4GB)
Hard Drive: 1TB S-ATAIIII 6.0Gb/s
Graphics Card: AMD Radeon R9 270X 2GB
PSU: 650W Corsair VS
Price was £555. Does this look like a good gaming build? could it run games like arma 3 and skyrim? Thanks in advance

It is OK but the board will not be able to handle OC on the CPU as to gaming question it will handle those.

If I was you, I would get a fx 6300 and a put the money towards a better gpu if this is for gaming as no game is going to need 8 cores, even 6 is too much but the price to performance of the fx 6300 makes it the best budget gaming cpu. Everything else looks good to me but I don't know anything about that cpu cooler. I know the hyper 212 evo is great for budget builds if you are looking for a different cooler
