Hopefully they skip haswell and the kepler refresh and go for broadwell and maxwell. It needs the battery life from haswell/broadwell, but it really needs the graphics efficiency that maxwell can bring to the table, even at 28nm.

The performance specs on the Edges were great, but the screens are wretched. 1366x768? Welcome to 2008 folks!
Thats because they are marketed as gaming tablets. That puny Nvidia 640M LE cannot drive the games on a fullHD display

Am I the only one who finds 1920x1080 to be an utter waste of system resources on these small screens? Sometimes I swear people are just buying into years of borderline propaganda in marketing. Just because these companies can waste their time making little screens with high resolutions doesn't mean it's actually worth doing when you analyze the benefit...

$1000 for an Android tablet is still ridiculously expensive. I'd rather just get an NVIDIA Shield and then pocket the rest of the difference.
Clearly u don't read the article and haven't been around from last year. it is a windows based gaming tablet.Still, Razer is always overprice. Asrock VisionX w/ HD8850M + ASUS M168+, Now, that's gaming on the go

Well OK then if it's a Windows 8 tablet with an i7-4620M CPU then I can kind of see the high price tag being justified, but still it's an incredibly steep price to pay for that kind of device..

I bought one of these when they first came out, upgraded RAM and SSD myself. It is a very good system. Can play BF4 on low. If you run on power saver and have the extra battery in the game controller you get about 9 hrs batterylife. OK, in that set up it is 4 lbs but on your lap or table that is fine. I think regular tablets are a waste of time, had an Ipad and only used it for the Internet on wifi. Use a cell phone instead of a tablet, my note 3 is a great substitute and you have internet access in most places then rather than relying on wifi.

I was really hoping that other companies created a similar product but with a lower price and possibly better specs. I don't understand why there isn't one with one of the AMD APUs, it would perform quite well on games and would be much much cheaper!

I wanted to get Windows 8 tablet and it was either Razer Edge or Surface 2 Pro...I only want to use the tablet as portable office/general computing and not gaming...Razer Edge has better spec but Surface 2 Pro has better screen...Anyone have input on which one I should get?

Oh I'd pick the Surface Pro 2 no contest - write capabilities, 1080P, Intel i7-4930QM, up to 512GB SSD, 128GB micro SXHD card storage, there's nothing I can see that beats that.

Since the Surface Pro is retailing at 300-500$ and a few cared about I can't see much of a market for these.Plus even if fullhd is (imho) useless on a 4.5 inch display, on 10.1" it is more then welcome.boytitan, are you really comparing a desktop gpu to a TABLET gpu? What's wrong with you? :)

$300 - $500? More like $599 (64GB flash ROM model) - $1400 (512GB SSD model).

"Best Buy is currently offering the Surface Pro with 128GB of storage for just $500, far lower than the $900 that Best Buy (and Microsoft) usually charges. There doesn’t seem to be any catch; the price applies to new models, and you can either buy them online or in-store"

thats cause the deal is now gone. you're paying 400 for a fairly powerful ultra book with a wacom digitizer built in for 500... or 750 at "retail price" and you're complaining about a shitty gpu? you know what has just as bad gpu's? 90% of sub 700$ ultra books. oh and want to take a guess at what costs 500$ and has an arm gpu that can't even compare to the surface pro? (a hint: the iPad) i swear, once mocrosoft does something, haters are instantly against it demanding a quad core i-7 and nvidia dedicated graphics, 15 hour battery life, and an apple like build quality for under 400$... get real... if apple slapped its logo on one of these and ran its osx on a tablet then you'd all be going crazy and willing to pay 1000$ like you do for the macbook air (which btw's doesn't have the wacom pen or digitizer at the same specs as a surface pro 2)Its $599 at bestbuy, so fluh. Savings of $151 and the GPU is total ****.
