PLSSSSS HALPPP

Solution
Synapse is a good enough reason for me to not use Razer hardware. A few years ago, both mouse and keyboard was Razer, now neither is. So many people have problems with Synapse.
SOLVED: I have an Asus Router (RT-AC56U) that auto-scans webpages looking for viruses with Trend Micro Systems and it detects a false positive when Razer tries to download the update.
If you have an Asus Router also if it is different from mine, open a webpage and visit 192.168.1.1 (or your gateway's address), then go to AIProtection (on the left) and disable the "Block dangerous sites", wait a minute and then retry to update. Now it should work.

what firewall have you got? might need to add razer to whitelist

Here's what I did: I went on to Razer Synapse, and I went and clicked on update software. I then clicked cancel and proceeded to click on the settings icon on the top. After that, I clicked check for updates and i tried to update to the newest version. This worked for me, so you should try it out.

I had this issue, and another of synapse crashing on startup once I'd gotten around this one, but seeming unrelated. I used the mobile hotspot on my phone to download the update. If possible I suggest giving this a go, as nothing else worked for me in 2 days of trying to fix it.

Worked like a charm, great suggestion.
