Your point is well taken - IF they are not using a 256MB stick. I do understand the basis of your reasoning, that if they were using 256MB sticks why wouldn't they offer a 512MB option instead of a max of 384MB? So as mpjesse has already told us, it does look like DDR boards with the ALiMagik 1 chipset will support 3 unbuffered DDR DIMMs.

With their introduction of the 1.5Gig PIV they've begun offering 512MBs of PC800 RDRAM. Why I would get that much and how I could afford it is beyond me... ;) Sell your house and pick up an extra 256MBs of RDRAM. To go from 128 to 512 costs an extra $850+. yikes!

(I may finally purchase a system tomorrow so you may see me stop dwelling on this potential purchase. Or, maybe not... :)
