I was wondering I had just bought a copy of windows 7 for my own computer, and I am trying to fix a friends laptop but he does not have the CD (but does have the product key on the back of the laptop) Both my machine and his laptop are both windows 7 home. So I was wondering if I could use my windows CD to install on his laptop.

If it says OA on the sticker, then its OEM. You can use your OEM disk, or better still, as nikorr said, install via USB - its *much* quicker.

Bear in mind though that if your manufacturers are different, you might end up with different OEM branding - this is not too much of an issue, it usually is limited to the manufacturer logo and support links shown in 'Control Panel\System and Security\System'.
