Ok! but how can i format the HD if anytime i plug it in, i get blue screen. Any ideas plsss!!!

depends on the bugcheck code you are getting.

is the drive a USB drive, or SATA drive?

SATA Drive!!!

you can boot your machine then connect the power and sata connections to the secondary drive.
windows should detect the second drive when you plug it in. It should assign new drive letters and you should not have a conflict that you would have when booting the drive. (you can only have one active primary partition at the time of booting)
