So i was playing a game (its a mmorpg "Argentum online") and I started to notice a quite high ping, 150+ms, it is a normal ping when my internet has to connect to a server in Miami for example, but the host of this game is in Argentina, the same country where I am. I did some tests with WinMTR and I realized that my route is going to miami, the ISP has not answered me, I downloaded wtfast and it lowered my ping a lot but it is very expensive to use, could I try to fix the route myself or is it impossible?

This is all related to how ISP connect. A small number of very large ISP such as level3, telia, verizon own and run most the long distance undersea fiber. These ISP have a lot of connections between each other in very many places.

If you and the server data center were to buy services directly from one of these large ISP you likely get the most optimum path.

Almost all other ISP do not own a lot of long distance fibers. They also have limited connection to other larger ISP. This means the traffic may not have access to the most optimum path. For example if some ISP say in australia only has access to fiber going to say singapore rather than a direct fiber path to say los angles.

You have absolutely no control over any of this. You send your traffic out the cable coming to your house and everything past that is controlled by the agreements the ISP have between them related to how there networks are interconnected.

You need to be happy that something like wtfast or exitlag exist.

These are special forms of vpn designed to get optimum paths to very common gaming data center locations. What they do is buy connectivity to a number of the largest ISP. They then pay these ISP to create a path though their networks that is optimum.
This path is not really even the "internet" it is more of a private connection that actually can have priority over internet traffic sharing the same fibers and use different fiber paths to other ISP.

These gaming vpn providers pay a lot of money to get this priority path and they recover this cost via the monthly charge

You technically if you wanted to pay huge money get your own "virtual fiber" connection between any 2 locations, almost all ISP offer this type of service. Large international businesses also buy this type of service to get better interconnections between their office than using a simple vpn would provide.
