reading and transfer rate is the same thing? because storage always reads something it transfers data
 
Solution
Depends where the destination is. Generally initial read from source is fastest but then transfer speed is dictated by destination.

500MB/s capable ssd transfering a file to a slow hdd in the same system, end result is how fast the hdd can write.

Other factors are file size, smaller and many files is slower than one big file. Then there's network throughput speeds if transferring files between PC's.
