Read/Write Errors on new SSD

Hi gents!

Quick question here. I'm new to SSD's and so I bought one that I've read many decent reviews about. I bought a 60GB OCZ Agility 3 SSD and I installed windows 7 64bit Ultimate on it. I then set the OS to read the program files from one of my HDD's. Whenever I shut down my computer, I would get read/write errors. The most common error I would get would be something like tskmng.exe Read/Write failure.

I'm not sure if I should be worried or if I just got a bad SSD. Either way, I would love some help! I appreciate it.

Quick edit: I have tried to reinstall Windows on it. I've wiped it a couple times and tried again. Now it's just been sitting in a drawer for a month.

Yet another quick edit: All other folders are set to remain on the SSD. Such as "Users", "Windows" and "PerfLogs".
 
Solution
The problem may not be with your SSD, when you get read/write errors to a hard drive and the SMART information is OK as it is in your case then the problem is caused either by a bad format on the disk (run chkdsk /f) or you have memory problems (run memtes86 for at least three passes)
As your SMART data is OK I don't think that there is anything wrong with your SSD but you should check for a firmware update.

Check and see if it has a firmware upgrade, go to ocz support site and check firmware for the agility 3 series. Connect the drive to a currently running system and run the firmware tool they have, it will tell you what revision it is and upgrade if it needed.

Alright, I did that. It told me everything was up to date. I ran it anyways since it might have been corrupt or something.

Hm, can't figure out why I get an error when I shut down. But it doesn't seem to be screwing with anything, so I'll just let it be for now.

I'm having problems with my OCZ Petrol and found this post. I know it is old but, in reading it, I see drumorgan had problems. More than likely if he had the newest firmware, the drive has failed by now. I have been monitoring mine and in touch with OCZ support. Raw Read Errors and Life Left should be the most important data to watch. Scan disk is particularly an indication, if your not changing or modifying Windows, that the drive is headed for failure. ALWAYS use your manufacturers forums to get answers or call them. You can't trust who is answering your posts (even if their status says expert) on other websites even though they seem to be giving good answers.
