I have attempted a few times to pull or read data off of DVD-R, DVD-RW or some CDR discs without success.
Background:
My mother, who passed a few years ago, was a prolific video recorder of family gatherings over the years. She was very organized with converting the files and putting them on DVD or CDR discs (over hundreds of them) but I have been unable to read them. I was successful with a limited few but for the most part they are showing as unreadable. I can tell there is actual data on the discs.
She had an older desktop (either XP or later Vista I believe) but I have no idea what software she used and how she wrote to the discs.
Anyone know of a program capable of reading file systems or pulling data off of discs if they may not have been closed during the writing process properly. I would really like to save the data if at all possible for the family. Be a shame to lose them but out of options I am aware of.
Thanks!
GS
