Real Time Latency Comparison between Webcam and IP Based Cameras

Hey Everyone,

So i have a question for you all. I'm curious what has a lower latency between a webcam and a IP cam when it comes to viewing realtime video. I know both have to encode and send the signal. But whats faster?

Lets say I'm using a Logitech C920 Webcam plugged straight into my PC. Is it faster then using an Axis IP Camera through a network?

I want the lowest level of latency possible.

It depends on the software you plan to use with your C920.
