Hi, I have a 4790k and two 980s but SLI usage is really bad. I get around 60% to 70% on each card. I've been testing this with gtav but others seem to be getting 80s and 90s.
Help please?

What is your resolution? Do you have vsync on? Is your CPU overclocked? Are you not getting the frame rate you thought you would? I don't see anything being a "bad" thing that you stated... Your GPUs not using 100% usage just means you either have your frame rate limited by v-sync or your CPU is running at its max and is holding back the GPUs, overclocking it can help with this, or the game is badly optimized and you can't do anything about that.

lol... just since I posted here look at all the gta5 threads that's come up just here at toms

but we all know these new game are never like a beta for you to guinny pig for them.. looks like they got your money and you got there issue free game

I'm sure they may patch it up in a few days, weeks or months and all be good

Sorry was in a hurry when writing it. Okay what i noticed after watching many benchmark videos with similar or the same setup is that they are getting much better framerates due to the fact it is utilizing both gpus well, but in my system i seem to be getting a max of 65% though usually at 50% and i have been having this problem for a while. I really don't know whats the problem and any help is appreciated.
Thank you

well how do each card preform on its own ? test each card by its self and compare results to se if there equal ..

but looking at the amount of threads on that game its hard not to wonder about it as derza10 said above

''or the game is badly optimized and you can't do anything about that. ''

or just a bad release of the game

Yes but the thing is i've seen many with much better results, and this happens often

No v sync but there is gsync, cpu not overclocked, and cpu shouldn't be a problem with 4790k but ill check and if it was what should i do?

seen with your own eyes or seen in reviews ??

like I said just look at all the posts pouring in to forum sites with this game and issues ???

with that is not looking too hard to figure out

also from a NVidia sli review from techpowerup

''Since this is our first multi-GPU review after new-generation consoles settled into the market, we noticed a worrying trend in game engines (particularly with cross-platform games for new-generation consoles) where deferred rendering doesn't take advantage of multi-GPU setups; in games such as Dead Rising, Assassin's Creed: Unity, or Ryse. A tell-tale sign of such an engine would be the lack of MSAA support. That could spell trouble for not just a SLI setup with affordable graphics cards as it could also hit NVIDIA's enthusiast-grade multi-GPU market hard, including its flagship dual-GPU solutions.''

so with that what are they seeing ???

SLI= Sudden-Loss-_of Income

I've seen it on a friend's PC and online videos with evga percision
