Really odd usb mouse problem

The mouse i have recently stopped working properly, seemingly for no reason after a normal shutdown.

It has this odd behaviour that the cursor will seem to lock up movement until i move the scroll wheel. Sometimes the mouse will just not respond and at others opening a new window will make it cry. Mouse buttons work normally mouse is hp laser mouse

Solutions ive tried:


i have tried it on 2 other computers and it works fine, so i know its the computer.

Used 3 other mice i know work and still same problem

Changed the precision settings
Changed the usb support options in motherboard (asus m4n78 pro)

Uninstalled the usb Drivers and any unused hidden ones.

Now at a dead end as everything i seem to find tells to do all the same thing and still no avail.

Try System Restore if you haven't already. Choose a restore date that precedes the date you first noticed the problem.
