Thanks guys. Those drivers are all the same ones though. Check the driver #'s. They are all the same, which is just an indication that the same driver pack was used on all these boards=same chipset.
What I was looking for was an upgraded version of the drivers in the way of a link at Realtek that might have an updated verion of the same package. Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit already has an updated driver that Realtek has developed for the chipset(which btw one of my apps is telling me my SB is a 700...hoping it simply means in that model/ chipset group)and it simply overides the older driver that Asus still has for the M4A79 line, as well as other older model mobo's.
I've actually found the updated HD drivers for the chipset through Realtek, but the controls packaging isn't the same as the standard Asus installation pack has with it. You can use the HD drivers and control panel pretty much the same and I "think" that they are updated beyond the bundle that Win 7 already uses. Cant be for sure. Gonna have to do some more research on it, but I'm using them now and they seem to work pretty good. Do a google for ALC1200. Thats the HD driver pack needed for these boards. Just need to get "that" driver pack in an updated(scripted)form.
I'm well on my way to finishing a new system that includes the Asus Sabertooth 990FX AM3 with the Phenom X6 1090T, 2 new Crucial SSD drives in raid 0, and a pair of Sapphire 6790's in CrossFireX. No doubt I'll keep the old M4A79 w/Phenom X4 940 @3.4Gh with temps of 33C, Sapphire Vapor X 4870 2gb, but I have no doubt it will take a serious back-seat to the new rig.
Thanks for the input guys. Its good to know there are still folks that are willing to lend a hand when you ask. ;-)
Peace!
