Realtek Audio Problems

I recently bought a new ASUS M50VM Laptop, it came with Realtek High Definition Audio Manager, and whenever I try and use my microphone, in games or ventrilo all I get is this boosted loud as hell echo no matter what I do and I cant hear anything from ventrilo like im not even connected. Anyone know whats goin on or have similar problem?

i've got the same computer and the same problem. poor sound from the speakers and almost no microphone sound at all
