Hi, I am having issues with my Realtek High Definition Drivers on windows 10. I have been using a usb headset in previous years but a couple weeks ago due to a faulty connection they have become useless. I connected my old aux headset into the back panel and the drivers initially worked. Since then every time I have restarted my computer the drivers would disappear and would require to be reinstalled for them to work, until a couple days ago where drivers disappeared as normal, but after reinstalling the drivers were nowhere to be seen.
(This is all using the onboard sound on my Asus motherboard)
After countless attempts to install both Realteks official drivers and Asus's motherboard specific drivers the only thing that ever seems to be installed is a couple useless pieces of software called waves and sonicrader(which both don't work,) and a file called RtlUpd64(which does nothing) within two folders called drivers and installshield in the same directory as the software.
Anyone got any ideas? I have exhausted every possible solution I can come up with.
(Also due to I think an unrelated issue only the first pcie slot works, which i currently have my GPU in so I cannot install a soundcard.)
