Realtek HD Audio Issues

I've been experiencing some issues when listening to music with my headphones. For example I can't hear certain music notes or if there is a background singer I can't hear them either. It's like the song almost pauses but the beat is still going. I'm sorry for the poor examples but that's the best I can describe it.

And that's from 64k/s mp3 files ? Or did you fiddle with the equalizer ? Or set the player profile to karaoke ? Please post some more info about the setup and hardware and we may be able to help.

This happens when I'm listening to music from itunes or even on youtube. I haven't messed with the equalizer or the player profile either. The only thing I messed with is the sound balance in properties. I have the left set to 0 and the right set to however loud I want my volume. I have them both equal or one just slightly at different volume settings, I'll get a echo effect.

Does ist change, if you twist the plug or pull it out just a bit. Is i a laptop with a combinde socket for mic an speaker or a pc with two sockets ?

It's a pc with two sockets. left socket is used for the mic and the right socket is used for the headphones.
