Is reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media error anyway causes by a faulty Motherboard?

I tried everything in the book, i even tried my HD on another computer,and it recognises the HD.
I then reformatted my HD and install fresh windows on it on another computer.But then when put it back ,still no luck
The magic word still there "reboot and select proper boot device or insert blah blah" still there.
I even remove the CMOS battery for along period of time.no luck....
Your help is very much appreaciated.

Go in to BIOS Setup & make sure the HDD is at the top of the boot device sequence list.

If still no boot success, fit new SATA & power cables to the HDD just in case one or both are faulty.
