"Reboot and select proper boot device"

just installed a new hard drive on my pc. when i try to run the windows 8 installation disk it comes up with "Reboot and select proper boot device" then press any key, i have already set my cd drive as primary from where to boot.
Edit : also checked the sata cables and rebooted but its in a endless loop of "Reboot and select proper boot device then press any key"

i did check it, even changed the cables, right now im putting all the data from the disk onto a USB and seeing if i can boot it from that.

How are you putting the DVD data on a USB stick? You can't just copy it over.

downloaded this and it is asking for a ISO file, but i cant find it on the disk. and it wont accept just the disk as a location

its seems drag and drop does work. im guessing the is with the optical drive its self. but im installing windows 8 now off the USB. thanks for the help guys
