Hi, computer froze today and so had to restart; one off freeze so didn't read much into it.

When rebooting i receive a "Reboot and select proper boot device" message.

I've read through various posts on TH and elsewhere on the matter but haven't quite figured out how to fix the problem.

I've been inside my computer and checked for loose connections.

Been into BIOS >Boot> and fiddled with different options taking reference from other posts. Currently looks like this ;

Boot mode select: [LEGACY+UEFI]
FIXED BOOT ORDER Priorities
boot option 1: Hard Disk
'BO' 2: UEFI Hard Disk

Goes down to #13 but just listed the top two.

I'm not booting from an external device nor do i have one to try to so i'm basically stuck with what's on my SSD.

MoBo is a Z87-G45 GAMING and my BIOS Version: E7821IMS v1.9.

My SSD is Samsung but does not show up after the Boot option 1# like i saw on a different post of someone who managed to screenshot it. Theirs had "kingston" after "hard disk" where as i don't have "Samsung". Don't know if that's of any concern.

Also worth mentioning that i haven't recently changed anything in terms of hardware to my knowledge.

Please send help.

Thanks

Tried a suggestion that i boot from UEFI only and not include Legacy and i'm taken to a different page when left to reboot.

EFI Shell version 2.31
Device mapping table
b1k0 :blockdevice - alias (null)
Press any key to skip "startup.nsh".

Firmly adjusted connections between MoBo and SSD since it wasn't showing up in the BIOS and now able to see it. When i boot now however, i'm simply greeted with a black screen with no messages.

After reset "Samsung" is no longer detectable on boot option #1: Hard Disk. Pretty confident connection is snug.

Hi, thanks for the effort. Decided to take pc to local shop. SSD was faulty and they replaced it free of charge (bought it from them 6 months ago ~). However, they're going to charge me £80 for new OS. Sad times.

Cheers
