Been having a rebooting problem along with just plain video loss and
scrambling for over a month now. Machine is as follows, (new):
AMD Athlon 3200+/400fsb
Thermaltake silent boost HS & fan
Thermaltake Butterfly PSU 480W
Three other fans in case
GA 7VT600 1394 mobo
Kingston PC3200/400 1 gig
Quadro FX500
WD Raptors (2) Running in Sata
Plextor DVD burner
Have replaced/switched everything except mobo, Ram & CPU.
Ran memtest86 and it froze me up. Tried M$ memory tester and froze on 4th
test.
Tried testing Ram in my other machine with the same programs, no problem, it
passed all tests. Replaced the memory that wouldn't pass with the ram that
did. The good Ram wouldn't pass in my new Gigabyte mobo. Does it sound like
the mobo??? CPU???? Driving me crazy.
Reboots when a burst of color hits the screen like when opening the internet
or playing video clips. Already tried different monitors and video cards
also.
PS Put Ram back that passed and it's working fine in my first machine, An
Athlon 1.2gig
