Build Advice Recent PC build now no display

Never had to make a post like this before but hopefully someone can help

I recently assembled a PC for my brother, not my first time doing so. It has worked fine for a couple of weeks of intense gaming but he reported that while using it to watch YouTube and not under any load the PC just shut down and wouldn't turn back on. The RGB mobo lights would come on but upon pressing power button there would be an audible click, then nothing. After trying multiple obvious things we purchased a new PSU with all new cables and replaced them which highlighted the GPU power cable as the culprit.

However even though the system now powers on and all fans and lights work as they should there is no display being output to any monitors whether it be from GPU or motherboard, multiple cables for each port have been tried on both.

I have seen things about BIOS FLASHBACK online but unsure as to which scenarios would prompt this to be used and if it would be of any use.

Any help or input would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance

Got a link to the ram kit you're working with?

You use that in the event that the BIOS is corrupt. It's possible that what you're experiencing is a corrupt BIOS. Either that or you're undergoing a short in your build.

different board but the principle remains the same.

One other thing, you can power the system without the discrete GPU, using only the iGPU off your processor to see if the PSU is unable to deliver power to the entire system when a discrete GPU is populating the system. It could also indicate a discrete GPU issue.

How old was the PSU?

As far as GPU or no GPU the system behaves the same, with no video output.

The original PSU was about 18 months old

Thanks,
