[SOLVED] Recently upgraded PC won't power on

I finally upgraded from my i5 2500 to Ryzen today. But now my PC won't power on at all (fans not spinning, LEDs not lighting up).
My 24pin and 8pin connectors are plugged in. My PSU switch is on. My PSU works (worked 3 hours ago on my old system). My PSU is connected to an outlet.
I've tried shorting the power button connector but even then nothing happened.
I can't figure out what I did wrong.

Try testing the board outside the case, to rule out a short.

The board might not have a BIOS to boot the 2600.
Any signs of power at all and make and model of PSU?

already did that, nothing changed

Try starting the board with 8 pin power cable disconnected. See if case fans do spin.

The BIOS version that supports that CPU was released about a year after the board was initially released, so you may need to upgrade the BIOS with an older chip to get it to recognize your CPU.

So if my BIOS version is wrong my fans wont even start spinning?

Hard to say. What's the video card?

If the bios is from after the CPU manufacturer date, you may need to borrow an older cpu to flash the bios to current. A local shop may be able to do it for a reasonable amount if they have a cpu on hand that can do it.
