I'm recieving 5.9Mbps but downloading 690KB/s.
If im downloading from one site it pretty much stays at 670-690KB/s If I also download something from another site simultaneously, both sites split the 690KB/s equally. And so on, and so on. Why cant i get above this low 690KB/s cap if my computer is receiving 5.9Mbps according to network diagnostic? Also task manager says im only using 5% of my network. Also the sites ive tested are completely different and unrelated servers. Im on an ethernet wired connection Dell inspiron 15 5555 A10 8700P.

Isn't it measured in mega bits not mega bytes? Speed of around 700kb/s is correct if you wanted 5.9 mega bytes per second your connection needs to be up around 60 mega bits per second plus the host be able to provide that speed.

The host as in my service provider? or hosts as in the websites im downloading from? Im getting 5.9Mbps internet currently from AT&T according to my diagnostics, but no website is downloading faster than 690KB/s. Why would 1 website decrease my download speed because of me downloading another file from a different website? Technically the 2 download speeds should be independent of each other since its 2 different website servers, as long as the download speeds combined arent faster than my current internet service (5.9Mbps) Also why would all these different websites have the same max of 690KB/s that would be extremely weird seeing that is such a random and slow speed...
