Hi Guys

I was wondering if u can help me decide with my next upgrade.first of all i got like 3000$ to spend and i want to go for and intel based computer.

I was thinking about the following specs:

Mobo - GA-P35-DQ6 (Kinda scared to buy it now that i read all thosse threads that report problem with it.Should i still give it a try?Or wait a little longer for a good X38 board this year?)
CPU - E6850 or Q6600(I am stuck here.plan to overclock the cpu but not much.Wich is better regarding the heat cause its kinda hot all year arround here in Israel?Maybe watercooling will help(Thermaltake Big Water 745)?)
RAM - Plan to go for an OCZ kit 1066MHz that i got from the Momerry Support list(2X1 Gb)
Video- Will go for an 8800GTS but i would like some recomandations on what brand to get(thinking about Leadtech)
HDD - 2XRaptor 150 in Raid 0 that will go allong with my other 2 WD 500Gb Hdd's

Regarding power supply i dont have any iddea what i could get and regarding the soundcard for now ill go with that onboard.

If u could help me on this that would really be great. If u have suggestions on other brands go ahead but i would like to hear ur pro's on thoose.I am going for gigabyte only cause i am fan and i like theyr layout of theyr boards but thats just a personal opinion.

Thx.Regards

I like the Antec 850. Sleeved cables, plenty of power cables, kool and quiet. I built the DQ last month. Gigabyte support does answer the phone. It is a cutting edge board so you will have to be patient with it. The BIOS is OK. It sets your memory at 1.8 when you will probably will need 2.2v You can increase the voltage, I haven't had my coffee yet so I can't remember if you hit control + F You don't want to wait for the X38.

No the E6850 does not have an unlocked multiplier, only the extreme edition CPUs have unlocked multipliers if I'm not mistaking.

If you're going to invest that much into a computer, then I would suggest you waiting for the g98 gpu or r650 that are supposedly coming out by the end of this year. The g98 is the second generation of the 8800 series, and the r650 is the second generation of the r600 (If I'm not mistaking). According to rumors, they're going to be much better than their predecessors.

As for the CPU, I would personally go for the q6600 since it can be easily overclocked to e6850 speeds, and you'll also have the two extra cores that have more future proof. Keep in mind though that Penryn is coming out by the end of this year, which is based on the new 45 nm die size which can achieve higher clock speeds, it will also have more l2 cache than the 65nm core 2 duos.
