I'm returning to the game after a long gap but am quite happy to be lumped
in as a beginner who knows the basic ideas and moves but probably needs a
more structured learning program now, I have some good books but am lucky
enough to have a birthday coming up shortly so will put in a list to our
Gladys and see what she comes up with
First of all, a travel chess for my train journeys, any advances on this
one, which seems decent enough and not too pricey

As for software, I have heard that CT-Art is a good one but am wondering
whether any others are recommended?, theres a list here

of which "Strategy by Squares" seem interesting concepts, and the basics of
winning chess DVD, theres also a big list of training DVDs by Yasser
