Hello

For any reason where your wireless card does not work anymore and can't be replaced - it mostly for a laptop

Can you share your best recommendation according with your own experience through Amazon to buy an external wireless antenna?
It to be connected through a USB port - of course if it exists and is viable

Thanks for your understanding

What is the make and model of this mystery laptop that has issues with it's internal wireless adapter? As for your external antenna question, you can pick up USB driven WiFi/BT combo adapters with an external antenna on them but they are impractical on a laptop since you can knock the USB port out as well, not just damage the antenna.

You'd be best served working with one of those low profile USB driven WiFi adapters.

Where are you located, what is your preferred site for purchase and what is your budget for your adapter's purchase?

Most laptops the internal wifi cards can be replaced. How much effort is takes to disassemble things to get to the wifi card varies greatly. Pretty much all laptops use the same physical size card and you can find a huge number of replacement ones. Almost everything modern is using a m.2 connection.

Things like tablets and some apple products the wifi chip is soldered to the motherboard and not be replaced. In those cases you have to use a external USB device.

The antenna in a laptop should connect to any new card, again they all use the same standard. The antenna in a laptop generally are behind the screen which tends to be the optimum placement. You really don't want to add external antenna.

You need a USB Wifi adapter, not just an antenna, if unable to change the internal adapter.
