you have missed of a few good games. you really should have started from 2007 as thats when gpu power started to make a difference other than high fps.
mass effect 1 still stands up today visually due to it being direct x 10. in fact i started playing it again a couple of days back and it still looks good.
other games you missed. grim fandango redux.

Watch Dogs was disappointing especially the PC version.

Grim Fandango Remastered was just released recently. Not enough stats on that.

why? its pretty mediocre on the whole. it has some nice fx but the gameplay isnt anything special the story is meh and the game over all has little to no replay value.

What about Assassin's Creed Unity and Far Cry 4? And even though Dragon Age: Inquisition was game of the year, it's not in the opening post.

AC: Unity is nowhere near making to this list. It was such a buggy and unoptimized mess. FC4 and DA:I are doubtful. DA:I is a terrible console port. Bad PC controls and the tactical cam is a joke. Great game for consoles. And they are still patching it i think. And GOTYs mean nothing. Gone Home was PC GOTY 2013

Nice list for a reference. You could consider adding more categories though, e.g.

Adventure
Portal 2(2011)
Alan Wake(2012)

It'd be better for gamers who only like a particular genre of games.
Why I'm saying this is till this day I thought Skyrim was some adventure kind of game; but when I checked sites, I found it to be a sandbox/RPG.

gotta agree unity is probably the worst ac game since ac1. goty editions of games now seems to mean they are fully updated with all dlc's added.
its not how it used to be with a game being given goty status only after it had been voted as such.

Looks good. I hope Metro: Last Light is a good game as I intend to play it and the last post-apocalyptic game I played was I Am Alive and it was pretty mediocre and repetitive.

You should have a 2011 and older legends category for games that are still amazing and still have a large population like team fortress 2, left 4 dead 2, WOW, etc. Those aforementioned 3 are still better than most games released in the last 5 years.

I was thinking of GTA5 and how much value the game really is, for the 2499 price tag. How was your experience playing it? If it's not worth the price I'll wait till it dips to 1499 or below. And I'm not talking about graphics, so leave that out please.

I haven't played it. And I am one of the few people who dislike GTA games so I am not the right person to ask for an opinion about this game. But I do think the Rs 2499 is too high for a game that is about 1.5 years old. The PC version was intentionally delayed to do a cash grab.
