Hello everyone. So recently I made a post in the PC gaming forum about whether a gtx 1080 will fit into my case:

This time around, I need a better PSU to support the gtx 1080 before I even order it. I've already done some research and it seems I should go for the 550w or 600w (currently I have a Acbel 350w)

The problem is the model. I have absolutely NO idea on what PSU model/brand is better than others. I don't plan on overclocking, honestly I don't expect I need to with a gtx 1080. Also here are my specs:

Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3770 CPU @ 3.4GHz
32 GB RAM (Yeah I know, JEEESSUS)
64 bit OS
NVIDIA Geforce GTX 650
350w PSU

So what do you all recommend?

Solution
in that case I'd get a quality PSU that's only 140mm deep

Cooler Master V(S)-Series V550 / V550SM
Seasonic S12G 550W
XFX TS Gold 550W
Corsair CXM550 /CX550M

should all be 140mm
The 550W PSU is more than enough (you can even get by with a good-quality 450W models) but such 550W PSU will give you flexibility if you want to upgrade your other components to more powerful ones in the future, without changing your PSU.

Some highly-recommended models for you to take a closer look at are: Corsair CX550M (5-year warranty, semi-modular), Seasonic G-550 (5-year warranty, semi-modular), EVGA SuperNOVA G2 550 or G3 550 (7-year warranty, full modular), and Corsair RM550x (10-year warranty, full modular).

If you are on a tight budget, the Seasonic M12II-520 EVO (5-year warranty, full modular) will be enough (or the 620W version, Seasonic M12II-620 EVO, if the price is close).

Well currently I'm at work, but the only issue I see that might be an problem are these:

I'm referring to the little latch holders in the back. Almost all of these PSU's are beyond 140mm, which is what the length of this PSU is, so hopefully these can just be removed.
