I have just recieved parts to my PC build including a 600w corsair psu. Only problem is without my GPU (Gigabyte GTX 780 450w) my build uses up to 200w. so does this mean with my GPU, i would be using 650w?

i just need to know if the GTX 780 450w uses 450w or if it means something else because 450w just for the gpu sounds absolutely ridiculous.

please help asap as the rest of my build arrives in the next few days and i dunno what to do.

thank you

With no OCing (both CPU and GPU), yes.

Prit was pretty clear in stating what I meant. Its not about wattage, but rather quality that you'd want from all the components, especially the power supply. I can say with certainity that a SeaSonic S12 620W will handle this build with ease, even with serious OCing, but can't say the same for CX 600W.
Don't tell me you ordered a 225W FX 9. And GTX 780 GB will not eat more than 275W at any given time. 450W is the amount of heat the cooling system (WINDFORCE) can dissicipate. The total consumption won't be more than 500W even with the FX 9, which's a crap CPU. But the quality of your PSU is most likely not adequete to take such a load, especially if its VS/CS/CX/ builder. You'll definately need a better PSU. Just to clear the air, what's your CPU and what model is your PSU?

I could but it just means sending this one back and buying another one and waiting longer to get it up and running. On Pcpartpicker, it says my system will use up to 448w. I am not planning on overclocking anything just to be safe. Do you think my Psu would be ok for my build, with no overclocking?
