Recommended tweaks out of the box.

I am installing WIN2000-pro on a new HD and was wondering what needed to be done after the installation. Should I install all the windows updates? What other tweaks are needed. I'm not in to much gaming, just using the PC for surfing and e-mail.

If all you are doing is surfing & e-mail, just install all the updates and you should be fine.

I know several people here recommend using Firebird or Opera as web browsers instead of IE6.

I do nothing, but install SP4 after the install, and do some updates sometimes, runs for more than a year no problemaz.
