Question Recording a single gameplay is a pain these days

Sad to see todays games don't allow me to resize their game window, basically locking down everything due to "cheating" reasons, however that type of stuff also blocks people like myself to record gameplay. See, OBS don't have an in game indicator so I have to look that tiny icon task bar to see if Im recording or not. In the other hand Bandicam don't work with Starfield as well. I have to resize my game window because it is literal cancer these days to even choose windowed mode. Windowed Mode blocks me to see OBS icon on sys tray because it basically fullscreens every single time and fullscreen mode itself no longer a thing due to stuff related to DX12. I cannot click good old screen icon on window itself because it is either greyed out or unclickable because my mouse does not reach to that part of the window.

Any advice on how to force resize game windows? I would like to avoid all types of keyboard combinations with this since stuff like alt tab or alt enter can do a bit of harm to my GPU as I experienced that before. Please help me out.....I don't ask for flying cars I just want to use my computer AND games.

Project (WIN + P) using duplex or extended perhaps?

What GPU do you have? If on Nvidia, ShadowPlay works for me, and I just tried it on Starfield with no problems.
