Recover abw document

Hello everybody.
I accidentaly forgot to save an abw letter that I wrote with AbiWord.
Is there a means to recover that file from the HD?

If you didn't save it, there is nothing to recover.

I know this is not what you are asking for but, Abiword, according to the documentation, hasn't been updated since year 2000 (despite this they claim it to work with Windows XP!).
Perhaps it's time to get a newer software. Open Office for example lets you set up how often it should make a backup of you current work.
