Question Recover bad HDD?

I just recently found an older HHD but when I loaded it into an external USB dock, I got the following error msg: Is there a fix for this?

D:\ is not accessible.
The file or directory is corrupted or unreadable.

Make and model HDD?

Try reformatting the HDD and applying the applicable manufacturer's diagnostic tools.

Probably not an HDD to ever trust again.

Probably neither will be an option.
