Question Recover Data from Laptop

My laptop died and I removed the ssd and I tried to clone it. I cannot see the files. My desktop is WIN10. My laptop was WIN10 but originally WIN8. Both the laptop and desktop are on the same windows account. What do I do?

Just obtain a USB dock, and connect this laptop drive like that.
You cannot boot from this drive, just access it as a secondary drive in some other system.

How did this laptop die?
Was it the drive, or something else in the laptop?

I have a usb dock. Problem is I cannot see the contents of the folders.

I can see folders but they show as empty. I will try to add "take ownership" to context menu.
