Recovery activation code missing

Ran recovery from USB stick purchased from Toshiba and it pops up asking for activation code which Toshiba spt says I don't need. Both laptop and USB recovery disk bought new.

Is it the Windows product key it"s asking for? If so use the option to skip. The key is likely embedded in the bios and the os should automagicly pick it up after the install when it activates itself.

Yes win Key and I skip , But it later pops up and tells me the key is out of date and either enter new key or option to buy new key! Have to reboot to get out of this screen - irritating!!!!

Out of date? Can't say I have ever heard of that one. Can you post a screen shot?

Seems to popup after waking PC from sleep or hibernation - See no option to load pix so: 1st scrn “Activate Windows” “Go to PC settings to activate Windows” + button labeled “Activate Windows” 2nd scrn is normal(?) PC settings scrn with activate windows, etc. options. Takes you to Microsoft Activation site. Seems Microsoft thinks I am trying to load copy on second PC illegally? Code is out of DATE????

Well...call Toshiba to fix this.
Calling MS will probably just make you call Toshiba.

1st thing I did was call Toshiba - They had me reload the USB recovery stick again (hours wasted again) to have same problem. Definition of IDIOT is repeating something over and over and hoping for different result. Like to think I'm not an idiot?
Now the new Key screen seems to be popping up at random times.

Well..this is Toshiba's problem to fix.
They sold you the laptop, the recovery USB, AND the OS.

But, try Microsoft anyway. They'll probably just refer you back to Tosh, but its worth a try.
