Last week my niece bumped my tower and caused a situation to occur. My computer when it goes into sleep mode it won't boot or come back on. The power is on, the fans are running and the LED light in the front of the case is on. But when I open the case the CPU red LED light is on. I tried resting CMOS, tested he RAM and till nothing. After try, After try, then it finally comes on. Any suggestion to fixing this error or is my motherboard going out on me

Solution
On an Asus board the red light for the cpu means.
The cpu is not seated right in the cpu socket of the board.
By knocking it, and the pressure applied by the cpu cooling solution.

The cpu can lift away from the socket, and also cause slight bending of the gold plated pins.

Once you have taken off the cpu cooler. clean all of the thermal paste off the base of the cpu cooling solution and the cpu die.
Unlatch the socket locking clamp and turn the cpu over and check for any bend in the cpu pins, on a amd chip it has pins, and on a Intel cpu you should look at the gold wafers of the cpu socket for any bent or miss aligned contacts.

If you find some that have a slight bend by visual inspection use a small craft knife blade with light...

If you find some that have a slight bend by visual inspection use a small craft knife blade with light pressure to straighten any bent pins on an AMD Fx cpu or the wafers of the cpu socket for an Intel LGA cpu socket.

Drop the cpu in the socket of the board, locking it down with the cpu retention leaver.
Apply some fresh thermal paste, then clamp your cpu cooling solution back on to the cpu in question.
If it posts first time without the red light you have fixed the problem.

Now to do with sleep mode and it not waking up right.

Go into your bios of the motherboard, in the power section for sleep and wake up/ suspend mode.
make sure you set the S mode to S1-S3.
save the settings in your bios before you exit it.

Your system should now wake up right after it has been in sleep/suspend mode or hibernation mode, without any problems with the red light for the cpu on the asus board, when coming out of a sleep or suspended power saving state.
