Hi guys

I’m having trouble with Installing new cpu and motherboard into existing PC

I’m getting red light under the CPU ez debug leds on my motherboard

Fans spin, keyboard lights up

I’ve inspected cpu and motherboard socket for bent pins and they’re pristine.

Any ideas guys? Could it actually be dead cpu or am I missing something.

I5 12600KF
MSI PRO B760-P WIFI DDR4

So long as you have BIOS version 1.0;
https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/PRO-B760-P-WIFI-DDR4/support#bios
which is the first release of the BIOS then you should be good.

You stated the processor is new, is it new for your platform? If not, then you should resort to using the older processor. If the board is brand new, then you should RMA it or ask the seller to replace it since it seems to me like the BIOS is corrupt and there's no way for you to flash the BIOS(as your board lacks a Flash BIOS button/option).

If you want to rule out the processor as the issue, drop it into a known working motherboard and if you get the same issue, then the CPU's at fault.

What are the rest of your specs? Make and model of your PSU?

Motherboard and CPU are brand new.

Other specs are as follows:

GTX 3060TI
Crucial DDR4 PRO 16GB x 2
Golden Field GPG750W 80+ PSU

I’ve tried without ram, and gpu still same red light.

It's not what you're going to want to hear but usually in my experience if you've eliminated bent CPU pins, RAM, GPU, the problem is a defective motherboard.

Usually something related to powering the CPU. Could be the headers on the mobo or some other defect with the board. Either way, I would recommend returning it for a new one if possible, otherwise it will have to be RMAd.
