Building a new build now running into issues getting the red cpu debug light on motherboard and no post.

These are my parts:
  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 7950X 4.5 GHz 16-Core Processor
  • COOLER: be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 4 50.5 CFM CPU Cooler
  • MOTHERBOARD: MSI PRO X670-P WIFI ATX AM5 Motherboard
  • STORAGE: Crucial T700 1 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 5.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive
  • RAM: CORSAIR VENGEANCE DDR5 RAM 32GB (2x16GB) 6000MHz
  • GPU: XFX Speedster MERC 310 Black Edition Radeon RX 7900 XTX.
  • PSU: Corsair RM1000e (2023)
  • CASE: Antec performance 1 ft
Tried: 1- updating bios using the bios flash button on motherboard waited 20 mins. Red cpu light stays on while updating. Still no post. Maybe I did it wrong but followed the mb manual. What I did:

1.1 - downloaded the BIOS update from the compatibility AMI BIOS 7D67v13 which is compatible with the 7959x from MSI on a fat32 32gb usb also tried on another USB drive still nothing. unzipped and changed the file to MSI.ROM
1.2 plugging into the bios flash drive port while only connecting cpu, and atx cables. Still cpu light even after 30-40 mins of waiting.

2- reseating the cpu checked for any bent pins. None that I see. Still no post.

3- checked if the ram was faulty placing in A1,2 and B1,2 individually with each stick. I just checked the ram I ordered was intel xmp optimized, I ordered the AMD expo optimized DDR5 same ram type just AMD version. Tried again still nothing.

4-reset the cmos battery and jump start waited 20 mins. Tried again for a whole night. Still a cpu debug light.

5- I did just use my current working build psu 750w Corsair RM750x 80+ gold certified thinking the cables are the issues but still getting red CPU light.

Hoping it’s not a defective cpu, or motherboard dont want to go through the hassle, but looks like I might have to. Read online that MSI mb takes a couple tries to update the bios trying multiple times with the correct bios. Still red CPU light.

Was able to get in my bios for once I changed the xmp profile for the ram which is probably where it messed up, this was before getting my 7900xtx after I inserted started getting the cpu debug light.

Not sure what else to do. Is there something that I might have done wrong?
Is there any other fix other than replacing CPU or motherboard? I dont have another Zen4 CPU to check if the CPU is at fault.

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

You should get 7D67v1A instead of an older BIOS version.

As for your cooler, can you lay the case to the side and remove the mounting mechanism so the cooler is resting on the processor? To see if relieving the pressure from the CPU's socket helps get the system to POST.

I downloaded the 7D67v1A BIOS waited for the update and I removed the mounting mechanism from the cooler while laying the case on the side.

Iam waited for the BIOS to finish updating but the CPU Ezdebug light is on while I'm updating the BIOS is that an issue?

Edit: The Bios flash light is updated from the back but the CPU light is still on

Fixed - just replaced the motherboard no bios updates the pc now works. Guess it was the motherboard. Installed windows 11 and everything.
