Hey there,

Is this just with the one game, or all games?

Do not use third party apps to install your drivers. You can do this easily. Uninstall that junk.

Which exact model laptop is it? This is important.
Hi sir! Ty for the answer and ur time! Im willing to say it just on this one, other games like: wot, dmc, the evil within, tww3, nfs and god of war, i didnt see it.

I went to intel site and nvidia geforce exp to check my drivers, they´re up to date now, at least what comes to cpu and gpu.

My laptop is an Acer Nitro 5 AN515-55-705U

Well, if it's just one game it could be a GPU or game bug. What power profile are you using?

Okay, i have not used it for that, i have been choosing my settings using benchmarks from youtube benchmarks channel, very good one btw.

Anyway, i really need help to solve this, as i lack the knowledge. I have also opened a ticket with rockstar games to see if there is any answer from them.

Let us know if it improves, or the solution.
Hi sir, i recently started playing outer worlds, and i can say its also happening in that game. But, before i get crazy thinking its a gpu problem, i also went to check other ppl playing rdr2, and i saw other guy with a 3060 and 3070 with similar problem, but they just dont care i guess.

Its sad to think that PC gaming is actually like this....

I found this, it looks like ppl are having problem over the last years, all over the globe, all different rigs even phones, oh my god!

Hmmm, yes, that doesn't bode well. It seems then that it is game related as opposed to the GPU. If those other posters have different hardware than yours, that tells me it's a game/dev/coding problem.

Normal game behavior. LOL

About door changing color -
surfaces on different angles produce different reflected light.
In game this effect looks slightly exaggerated though.

And shimmering shadows - I wouldn't care about it at all.
Imagine it's because of heat induced air shimmering. Light passing though such air would produce shimmering shadows.
Again - normal game behavior.

BTW - it's not supposed to look photo-realistic in game.
I don't think RDR2 even supports ray-traced shadows. And you don't have RTX enabled hardware also.

Hi Mr.

SkyNetRising

Ty for joning us!

Its really amazing to find out this is normal game behavior, i didnt really got into PC gamming since lil time ago that i got my rig, and i understand its far from the best but i thought i would play games like when i had my old 360, just with better graphics overall, thing is these "problems" make games look kinda stupid ina way, shadows popin in plants and moving with ur character are not something i remmenber to be honest.

I would also like to share this videos, because it will show when these "problems" happen and possibly also show how it doesnt really make sense for it to be happening:

The second one around 3:00 mark u can see shadows poppin while character moves, its a very clear example of something that, well, shouldnt be happening?

I tested rdr2 ina ps5, and there are no shadow flicks or popin in the console, o, why would it happen in PC? I would understand that it is because of ray tracing(that i cant have). But i have seen 3060/70 cards with this same issue. and i think they support it.

Is there a reason you are playing in a border-less window instead of full screen mode?
I have had similar artifacts when playing at less than full screen mode. Not sure of the cause, just my experience.
Try the game in full screen1080p mode .
Well, rdr2 i cant enable vsync when full screen because my fps for some reason drops to 1.

Outer worlds im playing full screen, and i get the similar problems, so id say its not that.

Nonetheless ty for joining and helping!
