Hi all,

I recently built my first computer. When I turned it on red dots (like static) appeared on my monitors. The red dots will only appear when looking at dark colors.

I did some research and lot of people have suggested replacing the GPU. So, I replaced the GPU and now one monitor has the red dots and the other does not have red dots.

Should I replace the one monitor, or replace the GPU again?

Setup:
- ASUS z97 Pro ac
- i7 4970k
- 16GB Corsair Vengeance 2133
- 2x GTX 970 strix
- EVGA 850w Gold
- 3x ASUS VS239H-P

Solution

Try with a different monitor if possible to check there are damage pixels also change the connection cable dvi ,hdmi or vga whatever you are using.

I have tried using new DVI, and display port cables. Since the issue is only occurring on one of the three monitors (and I don't have any spares :/) I can't really test this out on another monitor.

Side Note (Don't know if it will help): The pixels usually go away if I lower the resolution from 1080. Also, the GPUs are not OC'd.

I am going to RMA the one monitor that is having issues. When I get the new one we'll see if I need to send the GPUs back.

I will post again as soon as I get the new monitor.
