Hi! Recently I was given a Lenovo Desktop (k450) that had some weird stuff that I had never heard of or seen before.

First off I have no clue what the motherboard was but it was blue and had "Lenovo" on it..

The PSU was on the top of the case.

And most importantly, the graphics card was a red 2gb Nvidia GT 635 (definitely not the OEM version on Nvidia's website). The graphics card had a black fan/heat sink on it, had NO labeling on it whatsoever except for "v292 v3.0" or something like that and it only had 1 VGA and 1 HDMI port (No DVI)... This is the only link i found related to it http://www.thecomputerpartstore.com/nvidia-gt-635-pcie-x16-2gb-gddr3-hdmi-vga-video-graphics-card-

The lenovo k450 build that I received has an i5, 1tb hdd and the gfx card stated above.

I could only find one link that was almost its exact model/copy, on NewEgg (compared to the ones Lenovo show on their website) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883266696
http://shop.lenovo.com/us/en/desktops/lenovo/k-series/k450e/

What told me that it wasnt exact was that mine only used the bottom expansion port for the DVD drive whilst the top one was just empty and blocked by steel or something.. The front of mine does not have that hole below the expansion ports (mine stays flat) and it has no CF card slot just the SD Card slot...

Comparing the NewEgg model to the Lenovo website models makes it seem like I have the case of the Lenovo website version and the inside of the NewEgg one.. But I dont know!!! Maybe im wrong!!

So anyways, someone please tell me ALL of the details and things about this Desktop (performance, history, etc)!!! If you would like pictures, just ask and I will post them!!

Nope.. It is not a Nvidia GT 635M and it is not the OEM 1GB version either.. It's everything i literally stated in my post.. Red.. 2Gb... 1 VGA 1 HDMI... Just like this: http://www.thecomputerpartstore.com/nvidia-gt-635-pcie-x16-2gb-gddr3-hdmi-vga-video-graphics-card-

So this is either some kind of Bootleg GPU or name has been mistaken.

Nah I dont think so.. Its clearly legit but its not OEM.. Maybe it is a Lenovo manufactured model for their prebuilt k450s... Im not sure though which is why im asking here. lol

You can get anything from Ebay.Houses, cats ,chips, fake iPhone6, bootleg GPU, ripoff,COD ANYTHING. So it's very likely it's some kind of faked one.Since bloody NVIDIA doesn't approve it's existense, IT SIMPLY NOT REAL.Although it could be a similar looking card with modding.Have you seen a modded card from Nvidia? No? Prepare your mind ciz I'm about to blow it:

Calm down. Just because it is an irregular card doesn't mean it's fake or modded. Most probably it is a proprietary one made specially for an OEM manufacturer, and the guy you got the PC from bought it used and swapped it in. It could also be a GT 635 from a lesser known manufacturer.

To check what GPU it actually is, download GPU-Z : http://www.techpowerup.com/gpuz/

and see what it says about the card.

EDIT: Found it. It's a card manufactured for lenovo, by MSI:

I knew it wasnt wasn't fake lol.. But I need to know what the specs are like.. With it having 2gb of ram and stuff is it 2x better than the OEM version or should i replace it with a 750ti because the PSU is only 280W?

If you are happy with the in-game settings, and are getting good frame rates, then there is no need to upgrade. The GT 635 that you have seems to be a little more powerful than the integrated HD 4600, but still that isn't very powerful.

If you want to upgrade, get the GTX 750Ti. This is probably the best card for OEM systems since it is usually powered off the PCI-E bus, and this is of paramount importance as OEM power supplies often do not have extra 6-pin PCI-E power connectors, and even more oftenly don't have the capacity to provide power to more powerful cards:

http://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-750Ti-GDDR5-Graphics...

$130, and should be able to run BF4 at ~40 FPS on high settings at 1080p (less your resolution is higher.).

If that isn't enough, your only other option is to upgrade the PSU as well, but keep in mind that many OEM manufacturers use proprietary power supplies (especially Dell and HP), so this may not be possible. Also, since any card above the 750 ti is both longer and wider, you may not be able to fit a better card in your PC due to space issues.

Solution

Thanks dood. I was wondering if you had found any specs or benchmarks on the my 635's performance so that I could compare it to other things and etc. (I still havent used it yet)

Unfortunately your card is very rare, so I don't think there are many benchmarks on it. I'd guess they would be a bit higher than the GT 630, and less than the GT 640. Somewhere in the middle would be most likely.
