Question red squares on screen before crash

my computer just suddenly started crashing when i play games on it, it could be games like Rust or csgo. I have the feeling it could well be my GPU, right now I have an nvidia Geforce gtx 1080. just before it crashes there are red squares on the screen. hope there is someone who can help me. thanks in advance

Can you elaborate on crash? Does the system reboot? We're going to need a little more information. Please list your specs like so:
CPU:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:

Include the age of your PSU and the version for the BIOS on your motherboard. You might want to try and use DDU to uninstall your GPU drivers and then manually reinstall said drivers with the latest drivers sourced from Nvidia's support site, in an elevated command, i.e, Right click installer>Run as Administrator.
