[SOLVED] red wire and black wire that i connect to cpu fan?

i have a red or a black wire that i can plug into my cpu fan, i have the black one currently plugged in, should i attach the red one or does it make no difference? i should also say the wire color isn't different but the connector is different colors

Update your post to include full system hardware specs and OS information.

If it is not clear how the wires are to be connected then do not do so.

Refer to the applicable motherboard, CPU, PSU, case documentation to determine what fan plugs/wires should be used.

with the black wire the cpu fan was always going full blast, and also it was giving me a cpu fan error every time i booted up, but i attached the red wire and now the cpu fan is being read in the bios again and the error is gone and the fan no longer constantly goes full blast
