Hey guys, I have a bit of a situation with my laptop. Ever since I reinstalled Windows 7 after having Elementary OS (Ubuntu Distro), I haven't been able to get connected via wifi. The wifi icon on the bottom right corner of the screen (next to the time and date) displays a red x. It says "No Connections are Available". I've never had a problem with the wifi adapter previously when I had Elementary OS and Windows 7 (prior to installing the linux os). I have already installed the appropriate drivers for it from the manufacturers website and I've tried other "fixes" found on the Internet to no avail.

Make and Model:
Acer Aspire One AOD260

Machine and OS Specs:

  • Windows Edition: Windows 7 Starter, Service Pack 1

  • Processor: Intel(R) Atom(TM) CPU N450 @ 1.66GHz 1.67GHz

  • RAM: 1.00 GB

  • System Type: 32-bit

Current Network Adapters [all are enabled]:

  • Atheros AR8132 PCI-E Fast Ethernet Controller (NDIS 6.20)

  • Broadcom 802.11n Network Adapter

  • Remote NDIS based Internet Sharing Device

I'd greatly appreciate it if one (or more) of you guys can help me out. Thanks!

i might i have a fix to your problem . download the application or the driver for your modem on some other device . then use a usb to transfer the application or the driver to the acer laptop . download the application or the driver and then check if your internet is working
i think you should install this here is the link (install on the other laptop use a usb to transfer it and then download on the acer laptop . hopefully it works )

Yes, it's enabled. It works at random times but for a few minutes. Most of the time there are no connections available.
