Hi,it seems I got a virus or something and on some sites, upon clicking,it redirects me to another tab which closes itself quickly or it redirects my current tab on that site to this instead of what I pressed
View: https://imgur.com/a/WWWUrmr

I looked with process explorer and found nothing, malwarebytes found nothing, windows defender found nothing,no suspicious programs seem to be installed
Here are the msinfo and dxdiag if they help somehow?
I have the 1909 windows update and all my drivers updated if it counts

well, i can assure you it didn't just happen out of nowhere.

you have a browser virus

https://antivirus.comodo.com/blog/how-to/remove-browser-redirect-virus/#:~:text=Browser redirect virus is also, redirecting to its affiliate websites.

just be very careful on what emails you click on too. this can often times happen when you click on an email that you get in your mailbox.

remove all your browser extensions. uninstall browser and delete all it's folders. then install clean browser with no extensions and test.

I found these(besides 2 localhost IPs)

# 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server
# 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host

which apparently aren t a good sign from what I have seen on google?

Format drive and install clean. Then stop doing the things that you’re doing to get infected

I am not really looking forward to doing a clean install...
And what do you mean by stop doing the things that I am doing which get me infected?
I am not a noob at PCs...,I did not install anything suspicious from when it started happening

I mean perhaps it’s caused by some of the websites that you visit and interact with. Something got deposited in your computer that is redirecting your browser

doubt that too,I don t recall visiting any weird site during that time

What Mandark said.

Also, I've used Malwarebytes exclusively for 10 years and have never gotten a virus after the time that caused me to discover Malwarebytes way back then. However, I pay the annual subscription for all the features and daily definitions updates.

Are you using the free version? If so, it offers very limited real-time protection.

They now have a browser extension for Chrome (not sure about others) that protects it in real time I've begun using as well. You can find it in Chromes extension store.

And they just came out with a paid VPN service called "Privacy" that is getting a lot of good press. I tried it and didn't like it so much but it might suit others better.

Or format the hard drive and install windows clean and then don’t do anything to get infected again. That shouldn’t be a problem because the user should have all their data backed up anyway and if they don’t that’s their problem that they can deal with on their own
