i had been working on audio files from DVD moves. I got the sound even out. All of these times trying to find away to even out the sound in a DVD movie that i put into MP4. SO in NCH Wavepad i got the sound all even out, no low or blasting loudness. So, do anyone here know how to reduce background sound to keep that down.

Ok, taking about Audacity, when loading the Audio file, i now know what the light blue is in the center, but what is the dark blue sound waves.

I don't quite understand that.

The "dark blue sound waves" with jagged edges is the sound file.

Anything else is just the Audacity background.

Compression tools are generally the best way to "even out" sound to avoid too low or blasting. There might be an add-in for Audacity to do that, but maybe you already did that with NCH Wavepad?

The light blue is the average RMS level of the sound wave and the dark blue is the peak level. The difference between the two is the dynamic range of the sound wave which is expressed as a negative number e.g. -20 dB. In Audacity you can use the Effect menu Loudness Normalization effect to modify the dynamic range of the sound e.g. set it for RMS -10 dB or -6 dB where everything would be very loud because the dynamic range is very limited. However you have to realize that if you make everything really loud that would include any background noise, which is something that cannot be avoided. Essentially you cannot have it both ways.

Ok, this maybe hard to say or to explain.
I had been taking theaters movies that i have bought on dvds, ripping them on the computer. I had been uploading the audio of the movies to NCH wavepad to even out the sound, no more up and down on the volume.
I got the movie sound even out great, which someone online told me that i couldn't do so, so got it.

When evening out the high and low sounds when the low sounds seen to bring out background noise, is there any way that you can reduce the noise

You can try equalizers and you can try noise reduction tools of various types.

They will have some effect, but only your personal ears can say if the effect is desirable.

Audacity itself has some built in noise reduction tools you can try. They work pretty well for my purposes, but your purposes are different. It's hard to say if it would help in your case because we don't have your sound file and can't experiment with it.

Have you tried compression tools?

The above compressor is designed to plug into Audacity. I used it over 10 years ago to level out some annoying music files I had.

in nch wavepad, do anyone know what to set the (Dynamic Range Compressor) to when even out the high and low sounds to a even level to an action movie
