Question Reducing gpu core clocks to slow down crashes

So since I've got this second hand system I've been having problems with crashing on ark survival evolved and unigine every 15 or so minutes so I reduced core clocks on the gpu and noticed that it's reduced crashing significantly but still happens just after hours but it's at -40 on core clocks and still crashes after hours whats causing this bad gpu psu? I'm lost as temps seen fine sitting at max 75c

Gtx 980ti water-cooled
I5 9400f
16gb 2666
B365m hdv
240 ssd
2tb hdd
